J-Tripz
DSB: Wassup Fam…Glad you’re doing well!
Introduce yourself to our readers.
Tripz: Stowie!! What it do sis?!?!? I’m glad to be
bacc on Da Street Buzz mayne. I love y’all. What
up Junior?!?! I’m Bigg J-Tripz, Dogg Pound Next
Generation Family. Salute to Bigg A, Daz, and the
whole Pound.
DSB: When would you say you first got passionate
and knew you wanted to be a Hip Hop/Rap artist?
Tripz: Sittin in a jail cell in Columbus , OH . I had
just got crackes with a major dope (well weed)
case and they was trying to hit a nigga wit kingpin
charges. For a Gang o’ stressweed!! That’s
when I got serious. Beat the case, (Thanks Jeff;))
and moved back to Cali , and started putting my
life down on paper. The rest seems kinda like a
dream.
DSB: How did growing up in the Bahamas impact
your style of music?
Tripz: Freeport, Grand Bahama taught me A lot,
That’s where I learned how to fight, fuck, and fish!
I hear people tell me they hear the accent,

Stand up!!
DSB: Who would you compare you style to, if anyone?
Tripz: I’m a lyricist, I like to write, so you can pick anyone from like 1990 to 98 who was hot and that’s where my style
comes from. I’m a crazy hip-hop head so I identify with an era more so than I do a single MC.
DSB: Which artist had an influence on your music and who did you grow up listening to?
Tripz: I love The Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Always have. He came out to Star Records in San Jose when I was a kid, to do a
record signing when his first album dropped. It was like 10AM, and cuzz was toe back! Hammered! I was like, This
dude is the SHIT!! So I copped the album, and in a weird way, it embodied the way I was feeling. Like fuck it! Its
10am and I’m lit like a Christmas Tree. I got it like that, WHAT! Definitely a huge influence on my life, and my music.
DSB: Now you just dropped an album, how can we cop that?
Tripz: Actually, I haven’t dropped the album quite yet. I was gunning for February or March, but I’ve been making so
much music with so many different cats from everywhere, its getting hard to narrow down what I want to use for
“Escargot Blue Valentine Vol.1”. I just dropped a sampler of some of the new tracks though. Just to wet they whistle
a bit. Took em out to Tulsa for the PRE-record release party at Dangerous Rob’s hott new club.
DSB: How did your album release party go and where was my invite (lol)?
Tripz: It was incredible, Tulsa, OK (THUGGTOWN) has always shown me and the crew a whole lotta love. I got a
gang o’ extended family out there cuz The General of this whole DPNG movement, Dangerous Rob, be watchin out
for me. That’s my Bigg Brotha! The Mayor! So they came out and did it real bigg for me at “LADIES FIRST” (club)
and “Two Brothers” (Best Soul Food In OK). My homie Kavio (C-Bo’s new artist) even came out to represent.
DSB: Now you have to have one over here on the West Coast.
Tripz: Absolutely, Ric-Hard Promotions has my back out here! If you’re anywhere near Hollyhood you know my
cousin Ric-Hard. And you know he’s about to do it real bigg for my ACTUAL album release party, we’re scoutin out
venues now.
DSB: What’s going on with DPNG (Dogg Pound Next Generation)? Are you guys working on anything new?
Tripz: Always! We stay active! Meko and I are finishing up our solo projects, Chaotic and Montana are working on a
mixtape, and The General D-Rob is about to drop his 20th anniversary Album. Then Y’all prepare yourself’s for
DPNG Idolized Vol. 2.
DSB: What projects do you have in the making?
Tripz: Well, A little birdy (named Stowie) hooked me up with a cat from Baltimore named Born Divine who is working
with some cats from the Wu-Tang Clan, mainly Cappadonna. So yes, You heard it here first, The Dogg Pound and
The Wu-Tang Clan are about to take hip-hop to a new level. Change the game from both sides of the map, Coming
Soon.
DSB: Any performance dates set?
Tripz: Nothing solid this month. Just in and out of the lab. Check for my dates at WWW.MYSPACE.

DSB: Which artist have you worked with and which artist and you looking forward to working with?
Tripz: I’ve been in the studio with everybody rappin’ at one point or another, its what I love so I’ve been blessed to
meet a lot of heavy hitters. My dream though, is to get one in with Busta Rhymes, I’ve always looked up to cuzz and
when I get it in with him, I’ll feel like I’ve made it. He’s Crazy on the mic.
DSB: Out of all your bangers, which one has been your biggest crowd pleaser?
Tripz: The older cats like Keep it Movin’ from my last album. An absolute must for the jazz/hiphop head… It
features my second Dad Chuck Findley on the trumpet… Cats my age like my new stuff a little more… Its rougher
around the edges… Ya Feel??
DSB: Put our readers up on how they can stay connected with you.
Tripz: Same bat channels… Myspace, twitter, I’m not hard to find, and I answer all e-mails and comments, so HOLLA!
DSB: Any shout outs?
Tripz: To my executive producer TOO TONE and my Bigg homie Monster (SICCSANE), The Wu, U C It
Entertainment, and FREEDAM RECORDS And of course to my click, The hardest cats ever to do gangsta rap, THA
DOGG POUND. PEACE! LOVE Y’ALL!
