DSB: What up Tresor Hugo, good looking for blessing us with this
interview. Lets jump into it, can you let our readers know who
Tresor Hugo is?
HUGO: First off, thanks for having me.
Tresor Hugo is actually my real name, but as far as what I’m about,
my motto is “Be Different. Be Great. Never Stop.” That’s me in a
nutshell – there’s a lot to expect, but at the same time, you won’t
know what to expect from me.
DSB: “Fresh As I Wanna Be” that’s a hot single. What’s the
responds you have gotten from your fans about the track?
HUGO: They’ve said it’s one of the hottest records they’ve heard
in years. Out of 100,000 people who’ve heard the record around
the world, maybe 2-3 had something negative to say about it. The
single has been tested time and time again and proven that it’s a
hit record.
DSB: You been on the grind with the new album, “According To My Flow”.
HUGO: ATMF is a documentary of the origin of Hugo. I had to quit my job 100% on faith to jump out there to do this
music thing…it was hard – I went from sleeping on the floor for seven years and working two jobs to having ownership in
a successful company, doing what I love everyday, and this is just the beginning. The album is inspirational, it takes you
through different moods…its hip-hop, its rock, its unpredictable, and it’s what we need right now.
DSB: Who do you have featured on the album?
HUGO: ATMF is 100% Hugo: I wrote and produced the whole album.
DSB: What should we expect from it?
HUGO: You can expect nothing but hit records, from Hip-Hop to alternative rock…something you can truly feel…nothing
manufactured…completely genuine.
DSB: Where can our readers jump on a copy of it?
HUGO: You can get a copy when you see me on the road (look for me in my wrapped tour van), or online at iTunes, CD
Baby...I have over 37 different online distributors (you can Google “Tresor Hugo”). But It’s best to get an autographed
copy from me when I’m in your town – there’s more benefits that way (free shows and what not).
DSB: You got some tracks with a band right, different from what folks are use to. How did you hook that up?
HUGO: A lot of the tracks on my album were done with authentic instruments, so it was easy to integrate the band into
live performances.
DSB: So the wrapped up trucks are on the move doing the out the trunk hustle. Hows the luv in the streets?
HUGO: I’m actually in my tour van 24/7, always out in the streets, and I get nothing but love. I approach people with
respect and they receive the music with love – even other artists – which is rare in our community. My team and I have
sold over 15,000 units on the road/touring in just the past three months, so the numbers tell the story. Plus every show
for the past two years has sold out – people just love good music.
DSB: Who are you currently signed too?
HUGO: I’m signed to Bigger Dreams Music Group, INC. They have a new business model for the music industry,
because as you know the music business in the traditional sense is crumbling right now, but my record sales have been
on the rise; Bigger Dreams puts money in my pocket and the pockets of everyone who works for the company – I love it.
Plus I own 52% of the company.
DSB: Well good looking on taking some time out your hustle, any last words you would like to leave our readers with?
HUGO: Check me out on MTV, BET, and 60 other networks around the world this summer. I’ll be touring overseas as
well, in Germany, and hitting the states really hard when I get back. So make sure you pick up your copy of the album,
and support GOOD music so you can continue to hear more of it. And make sure you pick up one yourself Junior,
hahaha! PROSPER!
