DSB: Sunny Phoenix thanks for sitting down with
DASTREETBUZZ would you like to introduce yourself to
our readers?
Sunny Phoenix: Hi Im your new Favorite Rapper.
DSB: You were exposed to music at a very young
age,when did you discover that music is what you wanted
to pursue as a career?
Sunny Phoenix: I would say Elementary Just seeing My
Uncle Wayne DJ my Uncle Reggie Rap My Uncle Darrell
Sing My Cousin Tina and Sister Julia Singing My Mom had
every Record...(Yes 45 and 33) known to man it was
inevitable. It makes you think Music has to be the worlds
Heartbeat we couldnt live without it. That made me LOVE
music as far as Career it was one of those things that i ran
from that always came back somehow and i finally said F it
lets take over the world.
DSB: How do you feel about where Hip-Hop is going today?
Sunny Phoenix: Hip Hop in my view is like a Television
some people like Lyrics and info(cnn) some like
mainstream and party(mtv,bet) some like
nonsense(comedy central) but 1 thing is its your
preference you choose the channel. Now I love lyrics and
hot tracks Songs that are timeless. i dont see any timeless
or memorable music being mainstreamed or pushed. A&Rs
as well as Artist and Young kids are taking hip hop down a
road of Black Face and puppetry i often think that mozart
or coltrane even prince sit back and laugh at the music hip
hop is putting out.Its Just Watever music like they not
putting any effort or heart in it.

DSB: Who are some of your biggest influences in music?
Sunny Phoenix: I have a few but 1 that sticks out right now is Will Smith. The Fact he came in Rapping and is now 1
of the Biggest Movie Stars in the world TV Show Producer Manager etc etc That's a Bar Setter that shows me what I
have to surpass not aim for but SURPASS because I wanna be better then the Top Guy. Plus he is one of my fav
rappers since i was a kid and Honestly i wold say the only CELEBRITY that I would actually be at a loss for words if I
ever met him.
DSB: Now you're from the Inland Empire, how is the rap game different out there?
Sunny Phoenix: I Love it. I'm sure every person has a perspective of US if its Good or Bad We Don't Care come out
to our neck of the woods and be amazed Passion Heart Dedication and Talent From Underground to Mainstream we
have it all. Ive seen a lot of hate in other cities on each other and the I.E. stands away from that. We all do Shows
and Songs together to build up everyone Shout out to Noa James he always throws Dope Shows in the I.E. and the
only Promoter I Know that makes sure every artist has the crowds attention before they hit the stage.
DSB: You have worked with a lot of big name artists, whats been your favorite collaboration to date?
Sunny Phoenix: Funny You say that I was just talking with my manager and she asked me that and Honestly I like
them All From Robin Thicke to Tamyra Gray Louis Biancenello to Midi Mafia I Appreciate every Collaboration.
DSB: You have also performed at many different showcases and concerts through out so.cal, tell us a little more
about that?
Sunny Phoenix: Performing to me is the Epitome of Artistry I've Done Shows with Drake Bobby V. E-40 Suga Free
the list goes on and on but its not performing with these artist that makes me smile its the audience and adrenaline
rush I get from their applause that keeps me hitting every stage possible.
DSB: What big projects are you currently working on at the moment?
Sunny Phoenix: I just confirmed a mixtape collaboration with TroofBeTold Flip Major Dj A-Ron Dj Rawkitt and Jayy
Starr AKA "The Circle" also have a International Tour in the works and about to start working with Rock Band
"Venrez" be on the look out for them. That's a little peek the rest will be a Surprise!!!
DSB: Anything else you have in the works that we should keep an eye out for besides music?
Sunny Phoenix: I'm working with Best Buy San Bernardino Music Store to bring In-Store Performances for Upcoming
Artist to expand their fan base and also a Non-Profit Organization Called Funn Squad that host Basketball camps
around the city at elementary schools.
