DSB: Good Looking on granting us with this
interview.
Sporty-O: Thank you so much for taking the time
out to speak with me. I love doing interviews for all
the media outlets b/c it allows me the opportunity to
give the fans a chance top find out what I'm really
like behind the music.
DSB: Let out viewers know where you reppin’?
Sporty-O: I was born and raised on the Southside
of Atlanta. College Park 2 be exact.
DSB: When did you get starting in music?
Sporty-O: I have loved music all my life, and I
recorded my first song back in 1996. The song was
an old Marvin Gaye sample... I thought I was going
DSB: Who has been your influence?
Sporty-O: My music is influenced by all the songs I chose to listen to as a kid. Coming up I listened to Prince, L.L. Cool J, N.W.
A. Outkast, Ghetto Boys, UGK. My music is just very well rounded musically and lyrically. Critics really enjoy my creative
songwriting and subject matter and musicians love the diversity of the music that I chose to rap on.
DSB: What artist have you had to pleasure of working with?
Sporty-O: I have had the opportunity to work with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic who is featured on my brand new single
"Addict", Paul Wall, DJ Lethal,YoungBloodz, Bonecrusher, Lil Scrappy, Ol Dirty Bastard, Tylers Riot, Aquasky, Rockness of
Heltah Skeltah, Street Drum Corps, and several overseas acts.
DSB: So, who are you looking to work with in the future?
Sporty-O: I would love to work with some of the greats like OutKast, Ice Cube, Timbaland, or even Charles Barkley. I love
what Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse are doing. Fun fact: Danger Mouse and I went to school together for a little while. I would
really like to do a song with Prince or Sade. That would be hot. Something different!
DSB: Which song would you say is your biggest club banger and where can we hear it?
Sporty-O: My most popular song to date would be "U Not Beyonce". It was a really big hit for me and the song did very well
on the radio last year, and was added to the playlist on more than 50 radio stations nationwide without any major record label
backing or promotion. My business partner, Justin Trugman and I blew that record up by ourselves and it gained national
exposure and can be heard on many radio stations nationwide as well the media choice channel on cable TV. "U Not
Beyonce" has been featured on mixtapes worldwide over the past year. Google it or Check it out on myspace.com/sportyo
DSB: What other hidden talents do you have?
Sporty-O: I can roll a mean joint! No I'm kidding...(I can roll a damn good joint though). I love to jet ski. If I could figure out a
way to get paid for it, I would do it.
DSB: Lol. Roll a mean one, no I mean damn good one huh? Well you know me. I will put that to the test. Now your song
“Addict” was on 102.7 KIIS FM out here in L.A. a little while ago, what other stations has your voice been heard on?
Sporty-O: I have been on several stations around the country from Atlanta, Augusta, Tampa, Milwakee, Tulsa, DC, the list
goes on and on but I beg of the readers please continue to request my music at your local radio stations because I could not
be as successful as I have been without the support of all the fans.
DSB: Do you have any shows are albums coming out that we should be looking for?
Sporty-O: This summer I have 3 street albums coming out. SuperSport Vol. 3, which is the 3rd installment to my supersport
series. Debo Part 2, which is the second installment to the Debo series featuring my partner in rhyme GoldMouf. I also have
a street album coming out with an artist named Swann from South Carolina. Swann can rap as well as sing so I am really
excited about that as well. The project is called S&S Connect: Batting 1000. The single of that project is called, "Make U
ComeBack" which is already playing in the clubs and on several mix CDs now. We called the project Batting 1000 because
every time Swann and I go into the studio we make a hit so we are batting 1000 in the studio. U feel me?!?! My boy DJ SMUV
is producing most of these records on my street albums. My major release is entitled "The Business Man" and will be released
once the street albums have flooded the nation. So I got lots coming up, just keep checking my myspace page. Myspace.

Sporty-O: I want to give a shout out to God and my Momma 1st off. Also big shout to the HomeTeam: El-dawg, Big Man, Dre,
Justin Trugman, Kaeswole, and Dj SMUV. Thanks so much 4 the interview.
