DSB: Shy But Flyy huh, lets jump into it by you letting our
readers know where the name came from or what is the
meaning of it?
ShyButFlyy: Well, I’ve always been super shy. That’s just
my personality! But when I get on stage or in the booth, I
just let that go and get in my zone. So people use to say,
"Dang your Shy, But your Flyy"! It just stuck with me.
DSB: So you are a singer right but on some of your
tracks you spit a few rhymes, what do you consider your
style?
ShyButFlyy: A lot of people say Im a singer with a rapper’
s mentality. Whatever mood I’m in, I just do what comes
naturally, singing or rapping. I consider myself a singer at
the end of the day but my style is not confined to just the
typical R and B norm. I’m not afraid to step out the box.
DSB: How long have you been in the music industry and
what made you pursue it?
ShyButFlyy: I’ve been going hard business wise for
about 3 years; Singing all my life. What made me pursue
my dream was basically the passion for it. I looked up
one day and people around me where playing my music
rolling down the street and it hit me like man they like
what came from my soul and my heart. That’s the best
feeling.
DSB: Who are some artist in the industry that made you
pursue music?
ShyButFlyy: My favorite rapper is dj quik. I know I’m a
I just love the fact that he has his own style and doesn’t really follow what everybody else is on. Just kicks back and says I’
ma do me regardless. It doesn't get more real then that.
DBS: You currently pushed out a new mix tape right? Its not common for a singer to push out mix tapes, what made you
follow that path?
ShyButFlyy: Yeah, I just dropped my third mix tape "Still The Princess" Hosted by DJ L-GEE. I know not alot of singers put
out mix tapes especially on the west coast. That’s one reason why I did it. I also did it because back in 2006 when I dropped
my first one I only hung around rappers and that’s what they were on. I was like, I can do that! And I did.
DSB: Who do you have featured on "Still The Pricess"?
ShyButFly: Free Frost, Damani Blaq, Disko, Cali, Daysta
DSB: When can we expect that album to drop? Or are you just doing the mix tape hustle?
ShyButFly: Im working on my album as we speak! The mix tapes gave me the buzz I needed and the music contacts so be
on the lookout for the album in 2009.
DSB: Other then your music, what else are you working on? Any other company’s you pushing out?
ShyButFly: SHYFLYYENT. I like to help out other artist so I also throw shows, parties, ghostwrite, and promote. Sometimes I
like to be behind the scenes.
DSB: Being so young, you think its hard in the industry to get noticed?
ShyButFly: More so easy to get noticed, just harder to get respect until I prove myself wiser beyond my years. Which I am. I
treat my singing as a business. Which it is. And I take it seriously. I grind hard, never sleep, and its paying off.
DSB: What’s going down with all these performances? You do a lot of events right?
ShyButFly: Yes I do. I love being on stage its like I do one and get called to do ten more. Writing the song is like mixing a
cake.Recording it is like baking it. Then performing it is putting the icing on it and licking the spoon. LOL I love cake.
DSB: Well good looking on taking the time to jump on this interview, any last words you want to bless our readers with?

peep the myspace www.myspace.com/shy_flyy , And if Yall ever need Hooks and collabs Holla @ ya gurl. I do it for love!
