Roccett
DSB: Wassup Roccett! For those who don’t know,
can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Roccett: What's up! My name is Roccett, coming
out of Carson, CA, repping the West Coast. My
movement is Get Your Green Up. I am out here
grinding, giving the people good music.
DSB: When did you realize you had a passion for
hip hop?
Roccett: I have always loved music since I was I
kid, but I didn't start pursuing my music for real
until maybe 5 years ago. It went from banging and
beating on the tables in High School too learning
song structure and just staying in the studio trying
to develop my craft.
DSB: Since there is such a West Coast Hip Hop
diversity, how would you describe your style of
music?
Roccett: I make music off my emotions and from
my heart. My music is diverse; I make all types of
songs, just depending on how I am feeling. I make
music for all people, all regions, all countries, I
don't just make music for the West Coast or just
make West Coast music, and I make music for the
world.
DSB: What makes you stand out from other artist
making moves right now?
Roccett: I do me, I grind hard, and I don't worry
about the trends or fads in Hip Hop. It’s that
simple. I am not worried about what no other

you see is really Roccett not someone telling me to be this.
DSB: Personally and musically, who were some of your biggest influences?
Roccett: Personally, my biggest influences are my family and my manager and business partner, Rick Edwards.
Musically, my influences are Pac, Biggie, Jay Z, Nas, Snoop, Dre, Cube, Outkast, really everyone that been in the
game ten plus years and been successful. Those are my goals and that's not easy to achieve. But number one
influence is definitely Pac. I still bump Pac a lot.
DSB: Who are some of that artist you have had to pleasure of working with?
Roccett: I done probably worked with all the top artists to be real. The Akons, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fabolous, and the
list can go on.
DSB: Who is still on your check list?
Roccett: I need some Dr. Dre Beats, need to work with Jay Z, Mary J, all the artists that I listed as my musical
influences. I want to work with all of them, really anyone that makes quality music.
DSB: What are you currently working on?
Roccett: I am about to drop my Another Day Another Dolla project with DJ Scream, any day. We gonna beat the
streets up with that from the South to the West and all in between. I am also working on a West Coast Classic, The
Chronic 2009. The Detox before Dre's Detox drops, I am gonna drop that in either late May or Early June...
Straight West Coast Bangers on this joint... I can't wait to give the people this heat...
DSB: Fill us in on something about Roccett that most people wouldn’t know.
Roccett: I still think I can play hoops at a high level. Besides that, I am stand up man that is real, no fake-ness or
facade with me. I don't think I am different or better than others.
DSB: Tell us how to stay connected with you?
