aptitudes worldwide. Nyce Da Future is the first affiliate from G.
Unit to have signed a contract for a UK project and it’s not your
typical collaboration. Newcastle’s Dap-C is an aspiring Hip-Hop
artist working hard within the industry, having international
artists participating in his projects is an interesting venture.
Considering that his georgie swagger is something UK listeners
have to adapt to let alone the artists over seas!
‘United We Stand’ is released in March and also features the
likes of Mobb Deep, Akon and David Banner. DaStreetBuzz
speaks to Nyce Da Future about the forthcoming project and
catch up with his musical venture to date.
DSB: What’s the story behind affiliating with G.Unit?
NYCE: Well I grew up with 50, Banks and Yayo so the
connection was already there. But through the legal problems it
took a little while for me to get back in the groove of things.
DSB: How were you previously promoting your projects?
NYCE: DJ’s, Internet (Websites), Radio, DVD’S & the streets.
DSB: Is there a lot of pressure into pursuing your career at the
same height as your G.Unit peers?
NYCE: Na its no pressure because this is something I do for
years, if anything I’m having nothing but fun with it.
DSB: How do you stand out above them all and how do you
intend to keep yourself artistically distinguished?
NYCE: I stay above them all because I am real creative,
versatile and I am a perfectionist.
DSB: You’ve released a series of mix tapes as well collaborating for artist projects which has credited your status within the music
industry, what’s on your agenda to keeping up the consistency of successful projects?
NYCE: Just allot of hot music, I’m going to drop in this year alone over 80 songs, so I’m going to just keep flooding it out.
DSB: You’re the first member of G.Unit to have signed a deal for a UK project entitled ‘United We Stand’ by Newcastle’s Dap-C.
What were your first thoughts when you heard Dap-C’s music?
NYCE: I seen Dap-C is really about his grind and he is universal as well, so he reminds me of me but in a different level.
DSB: What should we be expecting from this project?
NYCE: A lot of versatility, it gives you a resume about me.
DSB: Do you have much knowledge in UK Hip-Hop and if so what are your views on the scene and its artists?
NYCE: Yeah you can tell that they are in love with Hip Hop and they’re making good music out there, so they’re continuing the
legacy of Hip Hop.
DSB: How will your participation in the ‘United We Stand’ mix
tape advance your own promotional strategies?
NYCE: I’m trying to reach everybody all over the world
because like I said this is my resume for my job, So I want the
whole world to Hip Hop, so if they don’t like Hip Hop I want my
music to make them like Hip Hop.
DSB: Who’s been the most influential artist/producer you’ve
worked with and why?
NYCE: The most influential producer I have worked with is
named Magnedo7, he’s just like me but he makes beats. He is
a pure perfectionist as well and very versatile. As far as artists
go it would be Prodigy from Mobb Deep because he’s a
legend and taught me allot.
DSB: Being in a position of still establishing your ventures,
what obstacles have you faced?
NYCE: Faced allot of negativity around me, a lot of violence,
and just a lot of people that had no confidence. So I take all
those things and try to make a change.
projects. How are finding having to balance out your personal/social life and business ventures?
NYCE: There one in the same because music is my life so I include it in my social life as well.
DSB: Stripping down the whole ‘G.Unit’ brand, how will you as an individual artist create a positive impact to the music industry?
NYCE: Because my music is influential I believe it make a huge impact in this industry.
DSB: What are your musical plans for 2008?
NYCE: My next mix tape is hosted by Dj Whoo Kid called ‘38 In The Head’, we also have a digital compilation coming out with
Shake ‘Em Down Music. After that I got my solo album coming out called ‘Top Dolla’r so its going to be a real interesting year.
DSB: Any last words?
NYCE: Support me and NBK, you will be very impressed with what you hear. Visit my websites www.nycedafuture.com and www.
