Khao
DSB: First, thanks for taking the time to sit down with
Dastreetbuzz, can you introduce yourself and where you're from
to our readers?
KHAO: No problem it's an honor. None other than your
neighborhood goon Khao repping the infamous Compton aka The
Hub City.

DSB: You spent a couple of years down south, did you find it
difficult to blend 2 very different sounds together?
KHAO: Yeah I spent some time down south, honestly it wasn't
hard blending the styles. I was in a situation where I was in the
south when it was just starting it's hip-hop takeover so I respected
what they were doing and I liked it . I took some things I felt I could
use like that down south bounce and flipped into my own vibe and
my own sound.

DSB: Who are some of your biggest influences?
KHAO: I love this question lol, some of my biggest influences are
artists like: 2pac, D.O.C. Jadakiss, DJ Quik, Big Pun, Canibus,
Nas, and a few other artists but those were the ones I really feel
had the biggest impact on my life and my music.

DSB: Some music critics say Westcoast Music is primarly gangsta
rap, how do you feel about that?
KHAO: I feel those critics are still living in the mid 90's. I'm not
saying that this isn't gangsta rap but I am saying its gangsta rap
revibed. It's a totally different sound from what the O.G.'s did its
more lyrical and more universal than what came before. I grew up
in a different generation of hip-hop I'm not the first gangsta
rapper that's been done already, but I can be a gangsta rapper
that's on some different shit.

DSB:
So with all the different sounds Hip-Hop has undergone
through-out the years, what motivates you to remain unique and
not follow the trends?
dastreetbuzz , da street buzz ,
hiphop , hip hop , music , rap ,
online music , free downloads ,
mixtapes hip hop,magazine,
online magazine, music,
underground, street, r&b, indie,

malone, blu division, conflict
KHAO: One thing I noticed about music in general at a young age is that it's an forever changing sound, and that it
is an art form. Like any other artist I want my art to be unique and different from what all the other artists are putting
out, so I decided to say true to myself, I decided to make music that bets fits me and the situation I came out of.
Instead of following a hip-hop trend I'm trying to start a new one.

DSB:
You have a great amount of knowledge, how long have you been in the rap game?
KHAO: Thanks, I've been writing since i was young about 12 yrs old im 24 (almost 25) now so do the math, I've been
doing music for literally half of it. On the otherhand I didn't start seriously pursuing music until the summer of 2004
when I realized other saw start potential in me.
DSB: Whats been your favorite track or mixtape to date?
KHAO: Damn that's a hard question lol I have so much material that the masses haven't heard, but I would say one
of my all time personal fav songs would be 'Chunk The B' and my Latest tape CPT2K10 has to be my favorite tape
by far.

DSB:
Your current mixtape CPT2K10, has received a great response, how do you feel you have grown musically
since your first mixtape “History In The Making” back in 2004?
KHAO: I have come a long way since History In The Making, much more lyrical content, confidence, delivery, song
making ability, and versatility. I can honestly say that I'm not the same artist I was then, I'm better, I'm redefined,
I'm a
beast now, then I was something less wasn't as good as I am now.

DSB: You've performed at plenty of showcases though-out So Cal., any up-coming shows we should keep an eye
out for?
KHAO: Yeah most definitely I have 2 shows coming up in May on the 15th and 20th. (Riverside Community College
5/15, Cal State Fullerton 5/20)

DSB:
Any big plans for 2010,Including projects outside of music?
KHAO: Myself and my team are putting some things together, documentaries, tours, just a little something we're
cooking up still keeping it low key right now.

DSB: 5 years from now, where do you wanna find yourself in your music career?
KHAO: 5 years from now I see myself in a position where I'm sitting on top of the West screaming "King Me!"

DSB: Its been a pleasure sitting down with you Khao, any shout-out's or last words you would like to leave our
readers with?
KHAO: Naa, it's my pleasure talking with you. You know I have some shout-outs of course my family, the whole
Revibe team, my goons on the east side of the city, my goons on the west side of the city, my down south squad
BTR, the original Movement MOBB, Riiv Starr Ent, just really a shout out to everybody that supports this movement
way too many people to name. The last thing I will say to the people out there is to just stay focused on your goals,
don't defer from your dreams even when it seems like the odds are against you keep fighting keep pushing, there
will always be people out there telling you to quit or telling you won't make it, those are the same people that know in
their hearts that you are on the path to success.
