DSB: What up K.A.L.I, lets jump off by letting our readers know a little
about your name? Where did it come from?
K.A.L.I: Pretty simple, when I moved from San Diego, Ca. to Houston, Tx.
Everybody just called me Cali. What does it mean? I wanted to be
different so I spelled it with a K instead of a C and put periods after every
letter. So to make it stand for something I came up with Knowledge
Always Lives Inside.

DSB: Let us know about your latest album “Introducing K.A.L.I”, who do
you have featured on the album?
K.A.L.I: Of Course, I got my Big Homie D-Red of The Clover Geez/
Botnay Boyz (Tx ) , Yung Bill Tha Rap Sumo (Tx) , Lowkey Smith (Wa) ,
Truth of Colab Ent. (Fl) , Shaad G (Ca) , Chad-O of The Stak Boyz (Tx)
and, my Homie Bezy (La.)

DSB: What about on the production tip?
K.A.L.I: All in house- Aaron (TreeTop) Pines for WilderBeatz Prod. /
George (Gino) McCray / Shaad G for GMayja Prod. And Cameron Dubs
of Dubs Attic Prod.

DSB: Where can folks jump on a copy of it?

DSB: “Introducing K.A.L.I” is your 14th album, whats the difference between this one and the others?
K.A.L.I: I just wanted people to realize that a West Coast Rapper can do any style of Rap. Just because were from the West
don’t mean that we can’t Rock a Dirty South or an East Coast Track. It’s all about RESPECT at the end of the day.

DSB: A lot of folks don’t know that before your music career  you was in the mix with a lot of big name artist, can you let us
know a little about that?
K.A.L.I: Man when I was about 16-17 I was not only rapping but dancing and got Blessed to Tour the Country with Gospel
Icon Kirk Franklin. As well as Trinitee 5:7, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams and the list goes on. I got a chance to perform at
just about every award show out there; The Grammy’s, Stellar’s, Soul Train, NAACP, Image and you get the point.

DSB: Being around big names, how did that influence your life and music?
K.A.L.I: I found my passion for music increased as well as my connects. So naturally I started writing more than I ever had in
my life. Eventually you also learn that the Music business is Shady and, that if you want in you gotta break the door down.

DSB: Being raised in Cali and growing up in Texas, what kind of style you consider your music?
K.A.L.I: A good mixture of Snoop/Common/ and Scarface

DSB: Any other projects you got coming out other then your music? Or is that your main focus?
K.A.L.I: As it stands right now I will be Co-Starring in a National Stage Play called “Love Don’t Cost A Thing…..Or Does It?”
starting in March. We open at the Beacon Theater and rap up in June at the Wilshire Theater in Los Angeles, Ca.

DSB: Where can our readers get at you?
K.A.L.I: Probably the easiest place is myspace. Only because I’m on there real heavy, something like everyday. And I do
respond to messages

DSB: Good looking on the interview, any last words you would like to leave our readers with?
K.A.L.I: Remember that life is a game, so have fun at it…….1 Luvv
