DSB: Wassup Josue, thanks for the interview. For those who don’t
know you, introducer yourself.
Josue: first and foremost, just want to let you guys know that it is a
blessing for me to be a part of the movement, so thanks for
choosing to have this interview with me. Well I go by the name of
Josue (jo-sway) aka Unik. I’m a Haitian born R&B artist currently
living in philly.

DSB: Now you also go by UNIK, how did you get that name?
Josue: ever since I moved in America, I had to work hard to earn
whatever I have. Everything was so much different to me do to the
fact that my culture and background is so much different. Yes most
people see me now days as a hot R&B artist, but what they don’t
know is that before all this, I had a lot to deal with. For example, I
had to learn English because my native language is French, then I
had to fit in and learn American R&B. do to the fact that I’ve
mastered both, I feel like I am very different from every other artist.
And only one word can describe that, and that’s UNIK.

DSB: How would you describe your style of music?
Josue: my style of music is mixed with everything that combined to
create a UNIK sound that people loves to hear. It’s a mixture of R.
Kelly, musiq soul child, boys 2 men, and the Caribbean taste twist
with the sexy French accent that the ladies love to hear. All that
combined in one which creates a UNIK sound.

DSB: Who would you say is your audience?
Josue: looking at every angle, just about everyone could listen to
my music and be satisfied. The one advantage I have is my baby
face lol. While I perform many times in 21 and up clubs all over the
U.S, I also get involve and perform for many school tours in the states. So basically adults and kids love listening to my
music. Another advantage I have is the major push that I’m currently getting from everyone in the Caribbean but mostly
Haitians and Jamaicans.

DSB: What makes you different from other artist?
Josue: well like I said before, I feel like I’ve worked harder then any other artist because of my background culture,
because I had to learn English, because I had to fit in listening to a whole different style of music (R&B), and now because I
made it this far alone with no record labels by my side.

DSB: How long have you been in the game?
Josue: I been singing all my life, but It been my profession for over 6 years.

DSB: Are there any new albums/shows we should be looking out for?
Josue: right about now, I’m working with on a major African project will be distributed all over Africa while I work on my
album soon to be drop. I do have a lot of shows posted on my site at www.myspace.com/josueakaunik

DSB: How has your music evolved from when you first started?
Josue: well now I really have a name for myself, I’ve been involve in major national competitions including American Idols, I’
ve done shows overseas, and with some people that I’ve met, I can now say that there is a spot for me in the music industry.
DSB: Which songs have been the biggest crowd pleasers?
Josue: right about now it has been a fight between my two singles. “CAN YOU BE THE ONE” & “INCOMPLETE”

DSB: What events do you have coming up?
Josue: you guys can check all my events at my site www.myspace.com/josueakaunik

DSB: Tell us something about yourself that most people wouldn’t know or think about.
Josue: I am HAITIAN lol…most people don’t believe me lol…

DSB: Good looking on the interview. We wish you all the success your heart desires.
Josue: thank you and God bless!!! Its been a pleasure for me.
