Jon Famous
DSB: Thanks for the interview. Let our readers
know who you are and where you reppin.
Jon Famous: DaStreetbuzz.com Whats up!! Jon
Famous is the name, Fresh Exec is the Label,
Crazy Genius is the Album and I’m coming from
the 916, Sac Town we in this thang, Reppin the
New West
DSB: Now you started showing interest in music at
a young age, what was it that caught your
attention?
Jon Famous: I’ve been playing the drums since the
age of four, Was in the band all through out
middle school and highs school playing the drums,
I got into the studio making beats and recording
myself at the age of 14. When I was in the 5th
Grade when I became familiar with Diddy and
found what exactly what it was he was doing in the
music industry, and wanted to model my career
after that. Beside the fact of I just love making
music.
DSB: How was your experience with working with
Jim Jones and Slim of 112?
Jon Famous: Being so young and an upcoming
artist/producer, it’s a gift to be able to hold my own
weight in the studio with established artist that
have been working in this industry for years. While
I was in the studio working with Slim of 112, I
produced the track and also co-produced the
Vocal Arrangement, And Slim is from the area of
REAL SINGING so to be able to work with a legend
like that was a wake up to let me know I’m in the
right industry. While I was in the studio with Jim
Jones, I noticed that he had a very active work
ethic, as we were creating the “Certified Hustla”

lesson to always have a project going and just work, work ,work, those thing will keep you relevant.
DSB: What other artist have you worked with?
Jon Famous: Other artist I’ve worked with list from Lil Wayne, Tyga, Rich Boy, Yung LA, The Pack (Lil B & Young L)
Too $hort, Mack Maine, Wale, Young Chris, Juvenile, Dem Franchize Boyz, Dezzit Eaze, Liq, Philos, L-Solo and
more.
DSB: Wow, that’s a pretty impressive list. Who are you still hoping to collab with?
Jon Famous: I would like to work with Kanye West, a lot of time I listen to his music and hear things that spark my
interest. Many times I hear something his and say I would’ve done that, or I have a track that sound like that. There
even been time where I’ve said. Yo I’ve said that already. So that just shows me that are creative minds are
somewhere close, I know we could concoct something crazy. I would also like to work with “The Dream”. His music is
just dope and his concepts are CRAZY so I know we could make some fire too.
DSB: How did you and Yung L.A. hook up for yall new joint “Pop My Tag”?
Jon Famous: We’ve had the record for a while but now is the more appropriate time for release. I’ve been working
with Yung L.A. on the production since the beginning of his signing to Grand Hustle. My artist D-Mac was in Atlanta
in the Thomasville Projects playing some of my instrumentals in the car, caught L.A.’s attention, he came over to the
car and start rapping to the tracks, asked who made them and then gave me a call. A week later we were in Grand
Hustle Studios (Echo Studios) making records.
DSB: How is the Bass guitar lessons coming? (smiling)
Jon Famous: It’s coming along. It’s kind of like playing a piano with strings, a lil less complicated from the piano and
guitar though. I want to be able to pick up any instrument and fluently play it, so I got the Drums, Piano, and getting
Bass, Acoustic Guitar is next. The real one man band!
DSB: How do you stand out from all the rest making a name for themselves?
Jon Famous: Every one is uniquely designed, but its all about how you embarrass your “Custom” and stamp it as
your own. Originality is the best way to create your own lane, so I’m doing just that. I’m “Custom Made” there’s only
one Jon Famous. Why wouldn’t I stand out from the rest?
DSB: When are you planning on releasing your debut album “Crazy Genius”?
Jon Famous: The release of my debut album is currently scheduled for Late Summer 2009 so, it’s coming. Right
now were preparing the people, because when its here ITS HERE!!
DSB: Who do you have featured on that album?
Jon Famous: Jim Jones, Yung L.A., Polow Da Dons Group I-15, Mistah Fab, Lil B of The Pack, K’hari (Fresh Exec),
2-Easy, And few more surprise guest.
DSB: Nice… Tell us something about “Jon Famous” that most people wouldn’t know or expect.
Jon Famous: The name “Jon Famous” came from a group of friends that would always say “You act like you’re
already famous, you handle your business like you already have your own label, you carry yourself like a real
artist”. But some time later I found the true meaning of the name. The biblical meaning of Jonathan means “God’s
Gift” and I have been blessed with a gift of message and music. My purpose is to share that gift, and the way I can
get the gift the masses, if for me to be quote unquote FAMOUS! God’s Gift Exposed!
