DSB: Wassup JoBlaQ or Jo as I know you.  Briefly give us
a breakdown of who JoBlaQ is.
JoBlaQ: JoBlaQ is a HUSTLA! Im a young black
entrepanuer with JAY-Z dreams and P.diddy wishes.

DSB: How did you get the name JoBlaQ and who gave it to
you?
JoBlaQ: From a close friend of mine, he called me that all
thru highschool!

DSB: When did you first realize you had a passion for
music?
JoBlaQ: Since a young'n, my cousin who was younger than
me at the time, wrote the most amazing rap. He was only
10 yrs old. Started of just tryin to top my lil cuzo, ended up
falling in love with it!

DSB: Who do you consider your biggest influence
musically and personally?
JoBlaQ: Jay-Z! hands down.

DSB: Now most West Coast artist are considered or
categorized as “gansta rappers”. Do you feel that is the
category you belong in and if not how would you describe
your style of music?
JoBlaQ: Im pretty sure some would say im a gangsta
rapper, but i would say its more like MAFIA MUSIC! hustle
MUSIC. I sing a "GET MONEY SONG!"

DSB: Now I know you have done some “Ghost Writing” for
some artist, but have you always written all your own work?
JoBlaQ: absolutely, is that a trick question?

DSB: Besides DJ Quik and BabyFace, are there any other

DSB: How do you feel about the direction Hip Hop is going today?
JoBlaQ: The direction its headed in is saddening! rappers have no content now a days, and the public is eating it up!

DSB: When can we expect an album or mixtape to drop?
JoBlaQ: The mixtape is in the street now and also available online at www.Itzjoey.com. The album will be ready early
sept. '10

DSB: Who is currently in your CD player?
JoBlaQ: JAY-Z's Reasonable Doubt!

DSB: What makes your music stand out from what we currently hear on the radio?
JoBlaQ: Im actually saying something! all u hear on the radio is niggaz talking about spending money and EATING
pussy! or doing some dumbass dance!

DSB: By the way, I love my shirt!  Now what was your inspiration for the track “They Know”?
JoBlaQ: It was perfect for my album, my man VYBE shot me the track! immediately I knew this track would set the
tone.
