let our readers know who Dj Purfiya is?
Purfiya: No problem I appreciate the time. DJ Purfiya not only is Southwest
Floridas hottest DJ, but also one of the hottest DJs in the south repping Florida
hard and strong. I am one of the most versatile DJs out there. But dont get it
twisted I am not cocky. I got alot of love for other DJs out there doing their to
shine at the top and open the gates for alot of artists I work with and the
movements Im pushing.
DSB: How long have you been spinning for and what or who inspired you to
become a DJ?
Purfiya: I have been spinning since 2001 but I didnt take it to a professional
level until 2005. What inspired me is not only my love for music but also
watching other Djs especially those in my area. I always wanted to do
something with music and since I cant rap I just thought it would be good to be
a DJ. I started doing parties and alot of people complimented me so I just took
it and ran with it.
DSB: So for those that don't know you are making a buzz in the mixtape scene,
how did you get started and how long have you been pushing out them tapes
for?
Purfiya: I dropped my first mixtape in 2004. My main mixtape series is called
Stop Sleepin. I wanted to do a mixtape series that featured artists that you
didnt find on alot of other mixtapes but also new hot tracks I liked and wanted
to get heard. I also have my Welcome 2 Flawda mixtape series which promotes
hot new music and artists out of Florida. Plus my Hood N Sexy mixtape series
which is R&B music music. But not only do I play your normal R&B like Neyo,
Dream,ect I also add on R&B tracks that the hood would like. Im also starting
up a new series called Best Of Both Worlds. Its a Reggae inspired mixtape but

Purfiya: Slip N Slide Djs is an elite DJ coalition whose goal is not just to promote and push the artists on the Slip N Slide
Records roster but also independent artists. Each one of us who is in the Slip N Slide Djs have our own strong movements
going on which makes the Slip N Slide Djs movement even stronger because when the times comes we make the coalition and

Young Skee, Tom G, Jolli Boi, Treal, Brisco and of course Slip N Slide artists. Truthfully I have alot going on and each day it
seems brings on more projects and new ideas. But I love what I do and stay focused.
