Charlie Sloth
DSB: Give us a breakdown of who Charlie Sloth is and
what he represents?
CharlieSloth: Im a musician from Camden Town London
UK, I  Represent good honest music!!!! I hope My new CD
will be a good introduction into the world of Charlie-Sloth

DSB: Your new release ‘In The Spotlight – It’s Hard Being
Good’ is due for release on the 31st as a free download,
tell us about this release and where we will be able to
download it?
CharlieSloth: Well this is my first solo project and
considering ive generated the hype I have without
dropping any CD's im quite excited about it's release!!! Im
Giving the CD away as a free download because i think
the formula Record labels and Distributors are using @
the moment is not working and they are all to scared to try
and do things different!! Ive spoke to over 20
labels/distributors over the last year and i have had 7
official offers out of those 20. When speaking to these
people i would always ask for sales figures from other
artist's on the label and was HORRIFIED to find out
certain of the UK's top Hip-Hop artist's were only moving
like 15.000 units....and the labels are ok with that!!??!!  I
like to try and keep on top with whats going on and i'm
always researching- I think Steve jobs is right in saying
that in 5 years time all music will be free BUT.... the track
will have an advert... now if you dont want the adverts you
can buy the track!!! This is putting the power back in the
consumers hands, i like this!!!!! Anyway cut a long one
short im trying swim the other way from all these other
CharlieSloth: The first Track you will Hear will be "MR Rapman" there will be a video for this one which is maaadd funny
watch out for it.

DSB: What response have you had from previous releases?
CharlieSloth: My music has been heavily played by the biggest dj's in Europe , One of the tracks i released last year which
features on the new CD made it into the Technics DMC World Hip-Hop Chart (number 8) I won an Award in Canada for
another of the Tracks from the CD and several of Hip-Hop's biggest magazines gave me serious props..  I have been
Embraced by the Pioneers of the UK game and been shown crazy love from some massive US artist's... ALL this without
releasing a CD

DSB: Are you working on any other projects right now?
CharlieSloth: Im always working, if im not working on something i feel like im slacking i get the shakes and all sorts i'm defo
a self confessed workaholic! I have just finished mixing down a CD ive got ready for the summer which is called " Fuck
Football" and of course my ALBUM which you will all see early 2009 which has been complete for ages but because im
constantly making new stuff the layouts for ever changing.....I got over 300 finished tracks now so this is just the beginning
of Charlie-Sloth

DSB: You have received various props in magazines both in the UK and overseas, what’s it like seeing your name written
down for the world to see?
CharlieSloth: Its real nice to know people all around the world appreciate my music and reading my name in some of those
mags was a real personal achievement for me!

DSB: What do you feel set’s you apart from other UK artists out there today?
CharlieSloth: As soon as you hear my voice on a track. You know its me! Im not scared to speak my mind!! If your shit ill let
ya know!  I could go on forever but that there is enough.

DSB: Who would you most like to work with and why?
CharlieSloth: I got a big long list but all the people at the top of the list are dead!!! But for Living Hip-Hop Artist's it would
have to be Jay-z. Because he doesnt write his material before going in the booth and neither do i, I just go in there and
POW it happens.. I think its alot more natural like that! so yeaa it would be crazy interesting to see how he puts it altogether
in the booth and see how similar our techniques are.

DSB: Do you feel there is enough support out there for independent artists like yourself?
CharlieSloth: hahahaha you gotta support yourself maann, generally when someone is helping you they are helping
themselves. Of course There are some good honest people out there who just wanna help but they are one in a million
these days. In terms of radio play and press attention i think there is no where near enough support there might be one
track from the hip-hop/grime scene a year that makes it on to the major radio playlist's its a joke!

DSB: You have also won awards overseas for your work right? Tell us about that?
CharlieSloth: I won an award @ the Cravefest festival in Canada for 'Most Original Video' for the Guided tour of Camden
video.. That was some illl shit!!! the trophy looks real nice and shiney in my studio on some shelf where ive left bare spaces
for others!!

DSB: Do you keep in touch with your fans on a daily basis?
CharlieSloth: I try my hardest to, i always holla back at people eventually.

DSB: Tell us about the Guided Tour of Camden Track? As you know this interview is for our American audience so break it
down for us?
CharlieSloth: Well im from a place called Camden town which is well known for all its drug problems and tourists, its kinda
like Londons Amsterdam. the scenery you see in the video is where i have spent my life growing up- Alot of my fans who
had never been to Camden would always ask what its like- so i thought you know what. Ima give you a tour and the result
was 'Guided tour of Camden'

DSB: Any Shout’s?
CharlieSloth:Big up everyone who has supported me on my journey so far i got you all!!!!
