Catalyst
DSB: Its a pleasure being able to sit with you, would
you like to introduce yourself to our readers?
Catalyst: Hola world, I go by the name of Catalyst.
Let’s get acquainted.
DSB: So Catalyst, how long have you been in the
rap game?
Catalyst: I’ve been rapping for about a year and a
half with any real intentions of being noticed for it. I
think I am starting off alright.
DSB: When can you say was the moment you
realized music is what you wanted to pursue?
Catalyst: Probably when enough people told me I
was good enough to be great at it. I did a freestyle
over the Ace Hood song “Cash Flow” and put in on
Myspace. It got about 100 plays in a few hours and
I thought I was the shit.lol That was about 2 years
ago almost.
DSB: Who are some of your biggest inspirations?
Catalyst: Besides providing for my family I want to
be recognized as an extremely talented overall
artist and a vicious lyricist. I don’t really want to just
be remembered as one of those great spitters that
couldn’t adpat their ability to be a lyrical assassin
to killing a song without numerous punchlines and
big words. Its something I work on everyday. And I
wouldn’t mind being known as the best by
someone, even if its only one person. That would
be a crazy feeling.
DSB: How do you feel about the current state of
Hip-Hop?
Catalyst: Hip-Hop is alive and well with a few kinks
to work out. Some people, even myself get

dastreetbuzz, da street buzz,
hiphop, hip hop, music, rap,
online music, dastreetbuzz, da
street buzz, online music , free
downloads , mixtapes hip hop,

annoyed by the not so serious side of Hip-Hop but its up to us to really make it the afterthought and put skill back on
the forefront. Not saying that being catchy is easy, but if you don’t put anything of worth in your music, what does it
say about you?
DSB: What was your favorite track on your last album “The Exception” ?
Catalyst: Tough question.lol I would probably choose “Suede”, which is also gonna be on Mane/Stream. My big bro
Dre Shot did his thing from a production standpoint and I did the rest.
DSB: Your new album “Mane Stream” is due in august, what can we expect from it?
Catalyst: Well with “The Exception”, I really just tried to demolish every record with a only a few that I tried to change
up on. With “Mane/Stream”, I wanted to show more from a conceptual standpoint and give more of own style and
even more of my lingo. Simply put, I want people to feel the passion I put into every song, whether a song fueled by
arrogance or a message. And I think it comes across well on “Mane/Stream”.
DSB: Where do you see yourself in your music career 5 years from now?
Catalyst: I see myself trying to top another well-received album. Battling rumors of getting the latest R&B/Pop star
pregnant and calling Reezy for a private interview to dispose of rumors that I am feuding with people within HVE and
still explaining what the hell a Green Wave is.lol I have the kind of team around me and ideas and mindset that let’s
me believe I am gonna make an impact musically sooner rather than later. I can’t afford to think anything else.
DSB: Its been a pleasure Catalyst, any last words you would like to leave our readers with? Shout-outs?
Catalyst: Shoutout to all of HVE. GQ, Dre Shot, Proliphic, DJ DEFinishun and DJ Inglish. We’re making moves out
here. Shoutout to anyone that supports us and what we are doing. And last but not least, Reezy and DaStreetBuzz
for the interview. Thanks for having me.
