Black Angel
DSB: Its a pleasure being able to interview you Black
Angel, how are you doing today?
Black Angel: Doing Well…
DSB: For those that may not be familiar with you, can
you introduce yourself to our readers?
Black Angel: My name is BlackAngelI’m in the game for
one reason and one reason only to make timeless rap
music, 2 legged Lions stand up!!
DSB: You have a very strong delivery and rawness in
your lyrics, where does all that hunger come from?
Black Angel: The hunger comes from being a striving
independent artist with a relatively small chunk of this
hip-hop market…I know that to be successful I have to
make music and spit lyrics that are not just good but
better than established artists who have a large chunk
of the market.
DSB: What do you feel makes you stand out as an artist
from the rest?
Black Angel: I believe that it is my past experiences with
life and hip-hop music that allow me to manifest my
music in a unique way. I have also spent a great deal of
my life cultivating my spirit and soul…and it is that
essence that will always allow me to touch the listener in
the deepest way…a person will never listen to my songs
and feel drained.
DSB: Who are some of your biggest influences in music?
Black Angel: Sade, Ice Cube, Bob Marley and Tupac.
DSB: I see you have a lot of buzz circulating right now, is
there a dream team you have or who’s the team that has
made this happen?

Black Angel: As an independent artist I don’t have the money to hire an elaborate marketing team…but I have been
blessed to have bredren and sistren in my immediate circle of family and friends who are willing to compliment my
efforts when needed, shout out to Zehen, Rising Son and Miel at Brown Crown Media.
DSB: Are you shopping for a label or would you like to go the indie route?
Black Angel: My 1st choice would be to grow my fan base and go the indie route…focusing on a key segment
receptive and open to receive what I offer. But if a major came at me with the right situation I would be more than
open to it.
DSB: Anyone in the industry you would like to collaborate with?
Black Angel: Nas, Lil Wayne, Jay-z, Currency, Willie the Kid, Kanye West and Lauryn Hill.
DSB: Where want in your music career 5 yrs from now?
Black Angel: A strong international fan base, respect from those that love lyrics and enough independent money to
put talented true to life artists on.
DSB: What upcoming projects are in the works and should keep an eye out for?
Black Angel: Currently working on a new EP and Mixtape. Both should be dropping this Summer…will also be
completing side projects with Rising Son and a video project with an Iranian artist known as Kami.
DSB: When things get tough,who/what is your biggest inspiration to keep going?
Black Angel: All things Godly, in California its not too hard to find, across the skyline, the coastline, the eyes of a
beautiful woman, a great song, the belly of a pregnant woman, my mother.
DSB: Thanks for taking the time to bless our readers with you words, any last comments or shout outs you would like
to say?
Black Angel: Shout out to Dastreetbuzz.com for recognizing and promoting the real. Shout out to Brown Crown
Media for believing, all things beautiful!
