This artist has been called a young prodigy by some and his
talent Still hasnt reached its full potential. Its funny when I
told my homeboy that I was going to interview Ali Vegas , the
first thing came out his mouth was " oh snap Little Nas!" and
that is exactly the sentiment so many of us have and I
happened to be one of those people. Listening to this artist
over the years, I do believe hip- hop needs this guy.... Right
now. So We decided to check in with " Little Nas" and see
what he has been up to as of late.
DSB: So for the people who don't know too much about you,
could you please tell the folks where you're from.
AV: I hail from Queens, New York.
DSB: How long have you been rapping?
AV: Well I been in the game since I was 12, since then I have
been trying to stabilize myself in the game.
DSB: Man I remember you , from way back. I do recall
hearing you some years ago. You were signed to the
Trackmasters(Poke and Tone) right ?
AV: Yeah man, i was signed with Trackmasters
Entertainment and things
were cool for a while , then all of a sudden the deal fell
through and Columbia pulled out the hook on us. A few
opportunities presented themselves but nothing came about.
DSB:You're a pretty powerful lyricist and one of the most
underrated rappers out there . What inspires you and where
AV: Well first of all the things that insprires me is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Also life inspires me. Thats what I'm about I
like to talk about the things that matter not only to me but my community and surroundings. My place in hip hop?? I'd like to
think as myself as being a modern day nas or rakim type-powerful with the words and kiiling the beats. Giving the people what
they want.
DSB: So what do you have in store for the world of hip hop ??
AV: Well at this moment im getting ready to drop the new album and the Title is going to be "Generation Gap". Production will
be strong with Producers like Scott Storch and Dj Premier , also got a track from Cool and Dre.
DSB: Looking forward to the tracks, of course. Do you have any features on the album ?
AV: I got some heat on this album enlisting the likes of Nas, Akon , AZ , and Styles P to name a few...
DSB: Well Im definitely looking forward to hear this project and i'm sure the hip hop world is waiting also. What are your plans
for the future ?
AV: Right now I'm just concentrating on Generation Gap but there is definitely more to come. Our company Rich Soil (co-
created with Lamar Odom)will be bringing more artists to the game so be on the lookout..
DSB: Thanks Ali Vegas , Its been a pleasure talking to you and we cant Wait for the album .
