Midway through his long awaited sixth album, Tha Carter III, on the track " Phone
Home," Lil Wayne tries once again that he is headed to outer space- that he is a
martian and has his own planet. What he mostly does , however, is convince us
he accounts, in fact, he does both for many hours of the day ; he's also reckless
with firearms and regularly getting hassle by the law. The way it seems that he is
headedfor a cliff than outer space . So be it . There is no stopping him and if he
does go Wezzy has left us with this insane, messy, out of control, but often
fantastic album. Well its about as radio friendly as a hip hop album gets
nowadays. There are some tracks that hit harder than a Barry Bonds homer and
then there is some verses on this album that have me puzzled (I hate rats /I clean
them out like Ajax/Got paper like /a fax machine ") and some offensive talk like
("I make her wear nothing but handcuffs and heels and beat her like a cop")
throughout , Tha Carter III has much food for thought. With tracks like " Lollipop", A Milli , Got Money , and Let the
BeatBuild, Weezy could easliy wage a Kanye-type attack on the charts this year. Likemost mainstream rappers,
Wayne doesn't shy away from telling us how rich he is or how many women he has knocked.Unlike other emcees,
however, he tells it in mysterious and ultimately satisfying ways.

The first track on Foxy Brown's fourth solo album, Brooklyn's Don Diva, is of
numerous news accounts detailing her run-ins with the law, including her beat
down of a couple of nail technicians in a beauty salon, which led to a probation
violation and a stint in Riker's Correctional Facility. " I still make the front page
news if i just sneeze", brags Foxy once she gets around to finally rapping. This is
a summary of this multi-platinum gansta rapper's mentality; she is not only proud
of her reputation, but also apparently she believes it gives her a license to
coast. Its not that the album doesnt have those infectious beats or hot tracks (i.e.
Too Real, We Dont Surrender , Bulletproof Love/One Love) its just that the Ill Na

Some people think that hip hop or rap was a fad, but to someone thats been in the
game almost 25 years nothing has changed. Ice Cube has been a mainstay in the
industry and you would think making movies would deter him some and get him off
what brought him here. On this album, Ice Cube brings so much heat he might just
melt himself this time around. Over the years it seems that he doesn't change with
the times, the times change with him. On this album he seems to enlist help from
Young Jeezy on "I Got My Locs On" and another heater on this album is "Why Me"
where Cube talks about violence and plays like he is a victim and he is asking his
killer why me? Also he has a song with the Westside Connection minus Mack 10
and in place of him , Game represents for what seems to be the new Westside
Connection. There are many heaters on this album and this is definitely worth
something you should pick up. After doing movies and going "hollywood" Cube

seems to still have that knack to adjust to whatever is hot and it seems like he can adjust better than most artists
ever could. We may never see the end of this pioneer, but i'm sure you'll agree with me after listening to this album.
black girl's dream, Controversy sells I was taught at 16." Unfortunately with all the controversy playingout in her
personal life, you would think she had a lot to say. Fox Boog has plenty to say but nobody but she is not saying
anything.. Unfortunately, Im still waiting for it.

If you havent heard this album, find someone who has it or go out and cop it
yourself. Ego Trippin is definitely one of the best albums of 2008. Snoop has
brought his signature sound back to the scene, this time enlisting help from super
producers Teddy Riley, Pharrell, and long time DPG rep Soopafly. The Boss
Dogg is still giving the hood what they want with tracks like "Whateva U Do" and
"Gangsta Like Me" songs that make you want to ride with the top down and throw
up your set. This is one of his best albums to date and it made me forget the Blue
Carpet Treatment ever happened. Even though you know Snoop is still a
gangsta, he still shows you his softer side on "Been Around The World" where he
tells about his travels around the globe and how he tells his wife that he been
there but its not so much fun without her and nothing compares to his baby boo.
You also know that this wouldnt be a Snoop album without his sidekick Charlie
Wilson and he also got the help of Oakland crooner Raphael Saddiq. Songs like "Waste of Time" and "Neva Have
2 Worry" balance this album and help make it a smash. The Doggfather shows his versatility on this LP from
remaking a blues track to bringing back an ol Morris Day song , this is definetly a banger from start to finish. This
is a classic album and the money you spend is well worth it.
Rick Ross - Trilla

With T.I. under house arrest, Lil Wayne about to implode and Soulja Boy near his
expiration date (or at least one hopes so), Miami's Rick Ross is the biggest thing
in the south right now. After all, dont forget his last album Port of Miami blew up
and went platinum so you'd expect this one would be a banger but.. exactly. His
first album introduced us to that deep, inelegant flow and stable of famous
collaborators, and Trilla offers more of the same, although this time he gets
overshadowed by the likes of Mannie Fresh and Jay-Z. The album seems
monotonous and the same ol thing youve been used to hearing in rap but Trilla
does hold a few gems like This Me and The Boss - lets all forget that he had a
song on his last joint called " Boss" and that, without T-Pain , there's really not a
song . Rick is adept with rhyming his name with his self- selected job title , and for
an album it makes me wonder about the next album that drops from the Boss. But
this album reminds me of a fast food meal , good but still leaves you wanting more.
